PowerApps Tuesday Tutorials #3 The Screen

I this basic(ish) session we take a look at the most basic container for all your other dropdown, buttons, text boxes etc – the SCREEN.

We’re going to take a look at the onstart, onhidden and onvisible properties with a jaunt into some buttons with navigate properties.

Hopefully I won’t blow people’s minds with the concept of a global variable. Essentially it can be anything and when I create them I Always prefix them with GV so it’s immediately obvious that’s the purpose of the variable.

Document Management #2 App Wireframe – Common Data Service for Apps

Creating an app using the Common Data Service for Apps.

This app is intended to be a simple document management system to convert and file paper documents into digitised images, categorising them along the way.

This is an end to end ‘how to’ of using the platform, with me going down a couple of rabbit holes along the way.

PowerApps Tuesday Tutorials #16 Parent.Default in Forms

Parent.Default is one of the more peculiar functions within PowerApps. I very much suspect that there is documentation on this already, but there’s nothing quite like seeing it in the flesh.

In this session we’ll take a look at how it is used (in Forms) and how it’s behaviour changes dependent upon whether or not you are creating a new record or editing one

PowerApps Art Project #05 – Creating a Submission Form

During this session we’ll create our first edit form within PowerApps and by the end of it we will be able to submit the form through to sharepoint.

I think this vid has a slightly annoying high pitched tone – I’ll see if I can get the closed captions working for this.

We’ll be optimising this for Ipad, as my daughter uses one at school.

The App is intended for my daughter to use throughout the life of her art project so that she can see how she got to the end result and her different thoughts along the way.
