Preventing users from seeing the profile form after signing into Dynamics Portals

[vc_btn title=”Back to the Video Library” color=”warning” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fdynamics365society.uk%2Fmicrosoft-video-library%2F|||”]

Ever wondered whether you can disable the redirect to the profile form after users sign into Dynamics Portals? I answer this question in this vlog, check it out now.

Note: this is only valid when registration to your Dynamics Portals is not “open” where you are going with the “invitation only” method. When it’s an open registration style, you don’t ask the person to provide their first name, last name and other details as part of the create an account process which is why seeing the profile form after signing in is important.

Grant application management part 2: the external reviewer and applicant experience

[vc_btn title=”Back to the Video Library” color=”warning” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fdynamics365society.uk%2Fmicrosoft-video-library%2F|||”]

This is Part 2 of my grant application management solution I demonstrated at Melbourne Dynamics 365 Saturday Australia in May 2018.

I show you the other part of the jigsaw puzzle which is how the external reviewer is direct to the application in Dynamics Portals and the exchange of comments between the external reviewer and applicant. Check it out, it is quite long so watch it when you do have time.

This is Part 1 of my grant application management solution I demonstrated at Melbourne Dynamics 365 Saturday Australia in May 2018.

I wanted to see if I can utilize Universal Resource Scheduling for booking external reviewers to review a submitted application. Check it out, it is quite long so watch it when you do have time.

How to update the redeem invitation URL in the Send Invitation workflow in Dynamics Portals

[vc_btn title=”Back to the Video Library” color=”warning” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fdynamics365society.uk%2Fmicrosoft-video-library%2F|||”]

When using the Send Invitation workflow to utilise the redeem invitation process for Dynamics Portals, the URL needs to be updated.

It can take multiple attempts to get it right and in this vlog I show you what works for me.

I also explain in my blog post why I display the URL as a hyperlink instead of the raw URL in the email message.

Hiding Search in Dynamics Portals

[vc_btn title=”Back to the Video Library” color=”warning” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fdynamics365society.uk%2Fmicrosoft-video-library%2F|||”]

In this vlog I show you how to prevent users in seeing the Search feature of Dynamics 365. Other entities and custom entities can’t be enabled yet for Search and I often get asked by customers to hide/remove the search feature so that users don’t see it.

This is achieved by updating a Site Setting record. No code is required.

[vc_btn title=”Back to the Video Library” color=”warning” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fdynamics365society.uk%2Fmicrosoft-video-library%2F|||”]

In this vlog I show you how to display a Dynamics 365 lookup field as a dropdown field in Dynamics Portals. This is achieved by using Web Form Metadata.

You don’t need to do any additional customization.

There is a gotcha which you can read in my full blog post at http://benitezhere.blogspot.com.au/2018/02/allowing-users-to-see-a-lookup-field-as-a-dropdown-field-dynamics-portals.html
