Send an email from a Queue using an Email Template

[vc_btn title=”Back to the Video Library” color=”warning” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fdynamics365society.uk%2Fmicrosoft-video-library%2F|||”]

In my last two WTF episodes I shared how to send emails using email templates from a user. In this WTF episode I’ll be sharing how to send emails from a queue in CDS or in Dynamics 365.

Queues are useful when you want to send from a generic email address rather than a user’s email address.

If your shared mailbox profile in CDS or in Dynamics 365 was not successfully enabled, please raise a new support request through the Power Platform admin center for assistance with your environment – https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/get-help-support

In this WTF episode I share how to replicate sending an email using an email template that’s defined in CDS and Dynamics 365. This is functionality we are used to today with classic workflows and I wanted to show how you can achieve this with Power Automate. Credit goes to AK.

There is a constraint with this method, stay tuned for the next WTF episode where I’ll show you how to get past this constraint.

How to avoid Apply to Each from appearing

[vc_btn title=”Back to the Video Library” color=”warning” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fdynamics365society.uk%2Fmicrosoft-video-library%2F|||”]

Have you experienced the Apply to Each in appearing when you don’t want it to? I share my two common scenarios of how and why it appears, and two options that can be applied to avoid the Apply to Each from appearing.

Check out John Liu’s blog post on this phenonmenon at http://johnliu.net/blog/2018/6/a-thesis-on-the-parse-json-action-in-microsoft-flow, refer to Problem 2 – the array – item object and auto apply-each wrapping.

This was a challenge for me to film and I hope you appreciated it.
